Sponsors Needed
We are seeking sponsorship and financial support of our family event ‘Celebrating All Our Communities’ in November 2026 at YMCA in Barnsley town centre (day to be confirmed). The event is for everyone and open to all. We hope that people will come will be from various communities from all over the Borough, not just refugees and asylum seekers.
This will be a fun event bringing all communities together in Barnsley demonstrating welcome for all. It aims to bring people together from different communities and sharing ways to collaborate and work together and help to foster a wider sense of community and belonging.
There will be food and music from different cultures, craft activities, entertainment, stalls and children are welcome to attend with their parents. This is a large room, we are hoping to have over 100 people attend from our experience of organising similar events in November 2024 and 2025.
We are seeking funding to pay for the following to ensure the day is a success:
Room Rent £150
Food from Different Cultures £700 Ukrainian, Iraqi, Syrian, Botswana, Jordanian, Yemeni, Pakistani, Indian, Polish, Palestinian (£70 each)
Entertainmen t £750 Face painter, Juggler, Magician (£250 each)
Crafts £300
Musicians £700 2 bands at £350 each
Other Expenses £250 Publicity ,travel etc The total cost will be £2850 .Any contributions towards the event however small would be very welcome.
Over 250 people attended free family event ‘Celebrating All Our Communities’ on Saturday 1st November 2025 at the YMCA in Barnsley town centre. This was a fun day bringing all communities together in the town demonstrating welcome for all. The event brought people together from different communities, sharing ways to collaborate and work together and help foster a wider sense of community and belonging.

‘A Time for Love’ with the Mayor and Mayoress
There was food and music from different cultures, craft activities, games, entertainment, facepainting, Irish and Zumba dancing.
The Mayor opened the event. At 12 noon, live music by the fantastic band ‘A Time For Love’. Food was provided from the following communities: Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Botswana, Jordan, Yemen, Pakistan, India, Poland, Palestine and UK. Stalls included Love Where You Live, Barnsley College, Saint Vincent De Paul Society, Barnsley Hospice, Barnsley Libraries, Barnsley PSC , Barnsley Stand Up to Racism and Barnsley FC Community Trust.
