Update on Barnsley Borough City of Sanctuary Newsletter

Where is the latest issue of the Barnsley Borough City of Sanctuary newsletter? Usually out in early spring, the newsletter has missed its release date, and you may be wondering why.

Certainly, it is not for want of support. Over the past few years, the newsletter has gained a significant following and a lot of positive feedback. It has come to play an important role in the work of those supporting asylum seekers and refugees across Barnsley, especially the printed version circulated in libraries and community venues across the Borough.

The copy writing and editing for each edition is provided free of charge by volunteers, but the design and printing are chargeable and have been funded by grants. Currently the grant funding has run out and we are seeking fresh funding to enable the newsletter to continue its important contribution. We are aiming to produce the next edition in September.
