Winter Clothing Appeal

We are hoping to distribute warm clothing to men through the Refugee Council and the Men’s Group . There is also a pressing need to find clothing for men at the Manvers Hotel in Wath which is distributed via Care4Calais (this is coordinated by our volunteer colleague Steve).

We are looking to gather suitable warm clothing for younger men, younger women and children (of all ages) such as fleeces, puffer jackets and warm trousers. Wellington boots or other boots and strong shoes are also a bit hit.

All contributions will be so very welcome.

Items can be left at St Andrew’s Church Penistone on a Tuesday up to 3.30 pm or we can collect from you at a mutually convenient time.

Thank you, in anticipation, for your generosity and care.

You can contact us via [email protected]  or by phoning 07711783050

We are reaching out across our borders to the many Asylum Seekers currently in the Holiday Inn at Manvers. We have an immediate need for new or ‘loved’ (good quality 2nd hand) rucksacks of whatever size for hotel-bound Asylum Seekers with few possessions. We are working with Care4Calais  to assist these poor and at times, desperate folk, in the first stages of building a firmer base whilst their case awaits an outcome.

If you have  a spare rucksack hanging around the cloakroom or garage we could distribute we would be grateful. Contact us  at [email protected]

If alternatively you like to make a financial contribution towards one, the details are as follows:

Barnsley Borough City of Sanctuary    Sort code: 51 61 35   Account No:  82826986   Please mark it ‘Donation Wath’

With winter arriving, we are also looking for coats in good condition.
