Over 250 people attended free family event ‘Celebrating All Our Communities’ on Saturday 1st November 2025 at the YMCA in Barnsley town centre. This was a fun day bringing all communities together in the town demonstrating welcome for all. The event brought people together from different communities, sharing ways to collaborate and work together and help foster a wider sense of community and belonging.

‘A Time for Love’ with the Mayor and Mayoress
There was food and music from different cultures, craft activities, games, entertainment, facepainting, Irish and Zumba dancing.
The Mayor opened the event. At 12 noon, live music by the fantastic band ‘A Time For Love’. Food was provided from the following communities: Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Botswana, Jordan, Yemen, Pakistan, India, Poland, Palestine and UK. Stalls included Love Where You Live, Barnsley College, Saint Vincent De Paul Society, Barnsley Hospice, Barnsley Libraries, Barnsley PSC , Barnsley Stand Up to Racism and Barnsley FC Community Trust.
